Our congregation put faith into action and help our hungry neighbors by volunteering to sort and pack food at the Northern Illinois Food Bank! Our volunteers sorted and packed over 17,000 pounds of food.
The Food Bank supplies food to food pantries, soup kitchens, after-school programs, and more in its 13-county area. Volunteers at their three centers make it possible to serve 71,000 neighbors in need each week. Thanks to volunteers, partners, and donors, a gift of $1 provides $8 worth of groceries to neighbors in need in Northern Illinois. The Food Bank supplies the lunches for our summer program feeding children in Mundelein.
