There will be a program on Stroke Education, Tuesday May 15th at 12:30pm at Ivanhoe.
For the fifth year, Ivanhoe Church will be participating in the summer lunch program for the children in Mundelein. We have two locations at which we serve:
Gordon Ray Park (358 Rays Lane) and Hanrahan Park (913 Noel Dr.). Starting date for the lunch program is Monday, June 4, and it will run through Friday, August 10. Volunteers and team leaders are needed and sign-up sheets will be placed in Fellowship Hall. If you would like to be a team leader, there is a training session at New Hope on Thursday, May 24, from 7:00-8:30 pm. Team Leaders play a vital role in the success of this program.

The Youth Ministry Board is pleased to announce that we have hired a new Youth Director. Kerry Reek was introduced to the congregation on April 22nd and held a meeting after worship. The youth discussed plans for upcoming events and were encouraged to participate in the Great Lakes Regional Youth Event (July 5-8) and the Mission Trip (August 1-5). Kerry is a teacher with the Special Education District of Lake County. She is a member of Community Protestant Church (UCC) in Mundelein and had a great youth group experience. So, she looks forward to creating a safe space for the youth to have opportunities to explore their faith and form meaningful relationships.
During the Sunday, March 8th service, our congregation celebrated one of the ways we bring ministry outside of the church. We heard testimony from four of our members who spent the week of March 11 serving with brothers and sisters from two other UCC churches at Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky (part of Appalachia). Our volunteers were joined by one former member and one family member along with eighteen others to embody the love and grace of Christ through service to a community in need. The bulk of the work focused on rebuilding decks, replacing floors and repairing walls as well as helping to clean and organize the mission resale shop. The service recording is shared below.
